Fill in and write on a PDF
A PDF can be typed into or written on, depending on the version and the app. Here’s how to tell which kind you have and use it.
Read It
Step by step.
Open the PDF in a PDF app — Adobe Acrobat Reader is free and works well for typing.
If the page has boxes that highlight when you click them, it’s a fillable PDF: click a box and type.
If nothing highlights, use the app’s annotation or drawing tools to write or type on top of the page.
On a tablet, a stylus in an app like Goodnotes lets you handwrite directly on the page.
Save when you’re done, using the same Save steps as any other file.
